A native of Cleveland, Alexis graduated from Carnegie Mellon University’s BFA Musical Theatre program. She first studied dance at the Cleveland School of Ballet before settling into contemporary dance and hip-hop as her primary styles of expression. She’s performed as a guest artist in several classical and contemporary dance companies including The Cleveland Ballet, DANCEVERET, Ohio Dance Theatre, and a collaboration with Robin VanLear, Artistic Director of Community Arts at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Over the summers, she taught both dance and movement at the Szopal International Theatre Festival in Sofia, Bulgaria. She’s also taught theatre and dance to youth in endangered communities in both Ecuador and Slovakia with Dramatic Adventure Theatre (DAT). Alexis previously performed in productions at the Abington Theatre (NYC), the Cleveland Playhouse, the Ice Factory Theatre Festival (NYC), Uncanny Valley (NYC), the Dobama Theatre, Fairmount Performing Arts Center, and Beck Center for the Arts.
Alexis recently co-choreographed Sam French and Kyle Wilson’s off-Broadway production of Kragtar: An American Monster Musical with Theatre Now New York. She also choreographed and co-created a music video for Alabama Shakes’ “Gimme All Your Love,” which screened at the 2016 Broke LA Festival and was featured in No Film School. A true Renaissance woman, Alexis is also an accomplished singer-songwriter. An alumna of the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Cleveland Youth Orchestra (as a classical violinist), she now frequently performs at local NYC venues like Laughing Lotus and Caffeine Underground.
